Could Laos be the final bastion of authentic traditional experiences in Southeast Asia?

Probably not but tourism has penetrated the country way less than in neighboring Thailand and Vietnam.

Whether it’s trekking through lush jungles, visiting small dusty villages, or doing the exciting motorcycle loop around Thakhek (or around Pakse), Laos has some scenery packed!

Let’s not forget about UNESCO’s Luang Prabang which is a marvel of its own.

The old traffic on the Mekong is being rapidly replaced by a convenient high-speed train. But the people remain the same regardless – warm and friendly.
